Becoming Catholic

The Church welcomes new Catholics with open arms, whether as children, youth or adults!

If you have an interest in becoming Catholic, please contact St. John’s Parish office (613-267-1043 or stjohnperth@gmail.com) or Fr. Charles Enyinnia directly at frenyinnia@yahoo.com or 613-328-8331. He will discuss the process and answer any questions or concerns you have. If you decide to go further, we have a process of preparation and formation for those wishing to discover more about the Catholic Faith, with a view to entering the Church.

This preparation process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA for short, which allows each person to study the Catholic Faith, begin or deepen a relationship with the Lord Jesus, develop a deeper prayer life and become immersed in the life of the Catholic Church.  Becoming a Catholic Christian is an important and life-changing decision and our parish priest and a team of parishioners are pleased to join with candidates in this process.

We also accompany those who are already baptized Christians and would like to come into full communion with the Catholic Church.

Once the process is completed and you have fully discerned that you wish to become Catholic, we will joyfully receive you into the Church.
