St. John’s trueLIGHT Youth Group has been officially running since 2002. Serving youth between the ages of 12-18, trueLIGHT is a Youth Ministry program that strives to bring young people into a closer relationship with Jesus in the context of the Catholic Church.
Our primary programming happens in the form of weekly Youth Group gatherings at our local St. John Catholic High School. We meet every Wednesday, 6:30-9:00pm, during the school year. Our evenings include faith-based teaching & activities, recreational fun nights, prayer, music, outreach projects and lots of fun and cookies, generously provided by our parishioners. We have a wonderful group of peer-leaders who are a big asset to our weekly programming. They also form part of our Parish New Life Retreat Team and take on leadership roles during our Parish +FIT Programs.
Our team leaders are active members of the Kingston Diocesan Youth Ministry Commission and our youth group members often participate in Diocesan youth events. As well, trueLIGHTers are regular participants in the National March for life Youth Conference which is held every May.
We are children of the LIGHT and we invite all youth to join us at any time!
