Confirmation Candidates who have completed their Sacramental Preparation

Students who have completed their Sacramental Preparation last year, and who have completed the registration process are now ready to proceed to our next step in the Registration process:

Candidate’s Registration Checklist

Ensure that you have completed & submitted the following:

  1. Confirmation Sacramental Preparation completed at St John Elementary or St John High School, or by consent of Father Charles Enyinnia.
  2. Baptismal Certificate Notarized Copy
  3. Parish Registration Form (Click Here)
  4. Confirmation Registration & Consent Form (Click Here)
  5. Once confirmed above is complete by Parish Office, register for desired Confirmation Mass (refer to section below)

Confirmation Mass Registration

Once the first 5 steps of the Registration Checklist (above) have been confirmed completed by the Parish Office, Candidates will confer their sacrament of Confirmation during one of the available Confirmation Masses. Each Confirmation Mass is being limited to 10 candidates.

CONFIRMATION & COVID ATTENDANCE LIMITS
Due to the constraints of our current COVID Status: GREEN Protocol, we must adhere to our required COVID policies. Namely, we must maintain 30% (125) capacity, wear masks, keep socially distanced, answer 3 standard COVID questions, and partake in our COVID Tracing/Counting Tally Sheet (i.e. we have to count each person that enters/exists premises).

Each candidate can bring up to 10 people:
– Candidate (themselves) & Confirmation Sponsor
– +8 additional guests.

The number of family members attending should be limited to parents, guardians, and household members in order that they may be seated in the same pew with the Candidate. If grandparents and siblings are members of the Parish community, they may attend as well, but they are seated with the members of the assembly.

Confirmation attire is to be appropriate for church environment as best as possible. There will be no white gowns available this year.

REGISTERING FOR A CONFIRMATION MASS

To register please complete the desired Confirmation Mass use the Click Here link or contact the parish office 613-267-1043. Spots are reserved on a first come first reserve basis. More dates will be added based on need.

We are looking to fill earliest dates first and to capacity as much as possible, and may need to change dates if there are not enough people or too great a demand, etc. To obtain a spot at a Confirmation Mass, the Parish Office will notify to confirm that all registration paperwork has been completed and Candidate is permitted to attend the desired Confirmation Mass.

The overall process of preparation involves the home, school and parish. Since you as parents have the primary responsibility for your child’s education and spiritual formation, those of us providing pastoral ministry in St. John’s Parish – along with the teachers at St. John Catholic Elementary and or HighSchool – will be pleased to work with you and your children as you continue to fulfill this God-given role.

May the good Lord bless you & your family in every way during this year of special graces.
